Revitalization won't happen by accident — it will take a concerted political, planning, and economic effort in Montpelier. Senator Weeks is leading that effort through two primary initiatives:

Modern commerce moves on modern highways — and Rutland County is falling behind. Dave is fighting for:

• Upgraded highway access into Rutland County from the east, west, and north

• Connections to the regional network beyond our borders: I-87 in New York, I-89 and I-91 in Vermont, and completion of Route 7

• Faster, safer movement of goods, services, and commuters — the foundation every local business needs to grow

Dave has already put this vision into legislation, drafting S.287, his bill to study self-funding limited-access highways that would connect Rutland County to New York markets while improving road safety.

Putting Vermont on the Map — Tourism That Pays

Tourism is one of Vermont's greatest economic engines, yet we undersell ourselves. Dave is championing enhanced Vermont branding to draw more visitors — and their spending — to Rutland County's mountains, lakes, trails, and downtowns. His legislation supporting Vermont Highway Welcome Sites is part of that commitment.
