Vision for Vermont
Rutland region’s last period of prosperity was nearly 80 years ago. It’s time to restore an economy that provides Quality of Life while maintaining our unique lifestyle and natural resources.
When the US transitioned from rail transport to road transport in the 1920’s Rutland region lost its economic viability. A concerted political, planning and economic effort is necessary for revitalization.
This rejuvenation can be accomplished via two primary efforts:
21st Century roads into the County from the east, west and north. Additionally, linking beyond the county to NY I87, VT I89/I91 and the half-completed Route 7 are critical for the rapid movement of commerce and motorists.
Enhanced branding of Vermont for increased tourism and its associated revenue.
